Church Lunch and Commissioning

The Bible says:
Elders who do their work well should be respected and paid well, especially those who work hard at both preaching and teaching. (1 Timothy 5:17)

Everyone in our church should be serving, and that's a great and wonderful thing to do. If you serve in our church - thank you! The Bible tells us that those who work hard at teaching us God's word are especially to be respected. They deserve honour, as they help us learn about Jesus and follow him.

This Sunday we are commissioning those who serve in our church by teaching us the Bible. These are our Youth Group Leaders, our Sunday School Teachers, our Bible Study Group Leaders, and all those who serve by teaching us (or our kids) from God's word.

Make sure you're there!

Church Lunches
This Sunday we are having a church lunch! Every month, on the first Sunday of the Month - we plan to have a church lunch together - and we would love for you to be there.

If you would like to help with either morning tea, or lunch - that would be a wonderful way to serve us all! Speak to Rachel Farrar.

Discipleship Groups
Discipleship groups start this week. In particular, we have a new CHINESE group meeting at 2pm on sunday (at church) and a new PERSIAN group meeting at 3pm on Sunday (at church).

If you're not in a group - let me know and I can get you into one.

Market Day
This Saturday is Market Day. They would love your help. Or just head on down between 9am to 11am to meet some locals or find some cheap (and quality) goods.

Prayer Meeting - Monday 7th February (7:45-8:45pm)
On the FIRST and THIRD Monday of the month (7:45 - 8:45pm), join us to pray to save the lost in our community. We meet remotely - here's the link to the meeting

Mission, Values and Vision
In 2017 our church decided on a shared Mission (why we are here), Values (what matters to us) and Vision (where we want to be in a few years). Last year we decided it was time to revisit these and update them.

Next Sunday (Sunday 13th February) we will have a special church meeting, right after normal church, to present our new and updated Mission, Values and Vision. It would be great to have you there. This will happen both at morning church and lighthouse church.

Annual General Meeting: Monday 21st February, 7:30pm.
The AGM for our church will be held on Monday 21st February at 7:30pm. We will hear about the ministry of our church in 2022, look at last years accounts and this years budget, vote for wardens, parish council members (if we desire to have a parish council), and the nominators (those who will choose who replaces me).

It would be great if you could put this in the diary and join us then. It's an important meeting.

Join us in person or online!
If you can't make church in person, you're welcome to join us online:

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
